Tuesday 01/24/12 - State of Union Shuffles Lineups, American Idol Encore Wins for FOX

With the annual State of the Union Address broadcast Live last night at 9pm, ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX altered their lineups for the President. However, due to a lack of commercial activity in the Address, Nielsen does not provide ratings for the Speech, so last night's data excludes the program on the four broadcast networks.

Against minimal competition, FOX's encore of Sunday's American Idol (3.05 A18-49 Live Rating) auditions was the highest rated program of the evening, landing the network first with A18-49 viewers.

Univision's lineup of Familia Con Suerte (1.49) and Que No Podia Amar (1.80) edged out CBS' lineup of a repeat of NCIS (1.97) at 8pm and a repeat of The Big Bang Theory (1.28) at 10:30pm.

Though NBC's 8pm original airing of The Biggest Loser (1.69) declined 8% from a week ago, the reality program still outdrew ABC's combination of back-to-back repeats of Last Man Standing at 8pm (1.41) and 8:30pm (1.42), and 10:30pm repeat of Modern Family (0.85).

Over on cable, TBS' acquired series, The Big Bang Theory, drew the largest A18-49 cable audience for the evening, followed by A&E's Storage Wars and Shipping Wars, which landed the network second among A18-49 cable viewers.

Though it was the only network to not air the President's Address, The CW still trailed its broadcast competition significantly, however new episodes of 90210 (0.47) and Remodeled (0.39) improved their A18-49 viewership by 15% and 70%, respectively, from last week's airings.
