Sunday 1/22/12 – FOX’s NFC Conference Championship Dominates Viewership

With its NFC Conference Championship Game (20.44) between the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers covering the majority of Primetime, FOX easily drew the largest A18-49 audience Sunday night, with the NFL playoff game also providing a solid lead-in for a special 60-minute audition episode of American Idol (7.26) starting at 10:57pm.

Faced with greater competition this week, ABC's original airings of America's Funniest Home Videos (1.06), Once Upon A Time (2.14), Desperate Housewives (1.80) and Pan Am (0.76) all experienced moderate declines with A18-49 from a week ago, though the network still edged past CBS' original episode of Undercover Boss (1.99) and repeats of 60 Minutes Presents (1.38), The Good Wife (1.10) and CSI: Miami (1.29).

Landing fourth overall for the night, Univision's Vida Mejor Cantando (0.56), Gran Show Los Peques (1.17) and Sal Y Pimienta (0.71) placed ahead of NBC's two-hour Dateline (1.03) and the last two episodes of Prime Suspect at 9pm (0.70) and 10pm (0.65), as the freshman drama continued its viewership decline with A18-49 through Sunday's series finale.
